Being a Manics fan in the USA....

I have a Manics hoodie that I made... It says Manic Street Preachers in large letters on the front and "I know I believe in nothing but it is my nothing" on the back.

Last weekend I was wearing it when I went out to run errands. I stopped at a gas station and the guy behind the counter looked at my hoodie and excitedly said to me, "Manic street preaching, that's something I could get behind. Is that a group?"

I said "yes, it's a group, it's a band..."

I could tell he was confused... "So... you don't go and preach the lords message?"

I told him no, that it was a band from Wales. When he saw the back of the hoodie he told me he was offended.

Later that day I was in a grocery store. A woman stopped me and asked me what church I was affiliated with so she could join me in street preaching.

Again - I had to explain....

Who knew some many people in upstate NY wanted to be street preachers?

Too bad I wasn't wearing one of the Holy Bible hoodies I bought on that tour, that would have been even more confusing.

That's quite a funny story. You almost won the first person over until he saw the message on the back.
Could you post pictures of your homemade hoodie please?

Create an account with Photobucket or some image sharing site, upload the image and then copy and paste the direct link and type [/ IMG] but with the copied and pasted link and the IMG in brackets should be typed without spaces.
It sounds confusing but when I type [IMG]the software on this site thinks it's a command!

Ahahah!
This story made me laugh.

Reminded me of that I have to hurry and make a Europe songs related t-shirt. So Korean kids stop treating me like an American.

And by "Europe", I don't mean the band.

You're assuming anyone could actually read that on a shirt... But with that said, I think that one is next.

Of course, I may have some other issues wearing a shirt like that. Best not to wear it anywhere near a Trump rally. Then again, I have no idea why I would be near a Trump rally.

I once answered the door to Jehova's Witnesses whilst not realising who they were or that I was wearing a Jesus And Mary Chain t-shirt... They didn't say owt about the t-shirt. Sounds a bit more extreme your side of the pond, your faith can't be that strong if you're offended by someone else's lack of it..

Yeah, first three albums, certainly first two at least would've thought would fit right in at the time. Maybe they were a bit too anti-American for Americans..

Sweet hoodie bro!

Yeah being a U.S. Manics fan is defeating sometimes.

"Oh hey yet another MSP release for record store day, let me guess not in the U.S.!!!!!"

Same here.
A lot of their youtube videos are blocked in Canada. How am I supposed to introduce MSP to my friends?

For example:
