They usually give between 3 to 4 months notice, so around now would be the perfect time to announce something for late Oct/early Nov. Not sure why they're dragging their feet for. Just announce it already!

Fuck the hits! They need to just tour album tracks for once!

Ah, my non-singles setlist thread. Find the most popular songs from that thread and make a setlist out of it, then hold the Manics at gunpoint and force them to play it!

Haha Holy Bible set followed by Futurology mixed with rarities would be ace! If there's going to be something it surely will have to be announced by early August at the very latest. Maybe they're still deciding in their own minds but you'd hope given the speculation they'd come out and confirm it either way.

I might be wrong but didn't the band have a vote on their website ages ago for fans to say which songs they wanted to be played on tour - around SATT time? Maybe I'm just confusing that with the vote for Lipstick Traces tracks?

I'm sure plenty of people would be happy to do that

I'm really surprised they didn't announce it the week Futurology was released.

I sort of imagine that the reason they're dragging their feet is deciding what they're doing about Holy Bible shows - do they do them, are they doing them on this tour or separately, etc.

So far Nicky keeps saying "there'll probably be a tour in October, and then there'll probably be some Holy Bible shows", which seems to imply two separate things.

Could have sworn that was eariler than SATT and was around the FD greatest hits tour. And everyone voted for Revol which they never played.

Now you say that does make more sense - shamefully before I got the Manics' bug! And no surprise on the Revol front!

Anyway, as Marwood pointed out that was what definitely Nicky said when chatting to Bethan Elfyn on Radio Wales. Not sure if it's still on iplayer...

In a way that makes sense to do full justice to Futurology but otoh I really don't know how they'd do two UK tours so quickly, even small ones in October and (probably)December and with nothing whatsoever announced so far. In the end it's mostly the Academy venues they'd be playing and surely the target fan base is near enough the same for both? Realistically it's not like they'd repeat the dates and if they only did eg two or three THB shows afterwards so many of those people who'd give limbs to see those would miss out. Personally I think a suite of JFPL style gigs would be the best plan all round. Give as many fans as possible the best of both worlds. Then again I have no idea how the band feel about the prospect in the first place, let alone say 10 outings of Mausoleum and 4st 7lb.

I think it's a difficult thing to juggle. I think given the band's apparent (and understandable) discomfort with the idea of playing it in full and some of the material and the memories it evokes, we are probably far more likely to get a very small number of Holy Bible gigs (perhaps even just one) rather than a national tour, but then as you rightly point out a lot of fans might miss out as a result if it isn't part of the October tour.

I actually wouldn't be at all surprised if we end up with a regular tour through October/November, followed by a limited number of Holy Bible shows in December - most likely as a three-night residency somewhere in London (Brixton Academy, probably), more or less coinciding with the twentieth anniversary of the Astoria gigs (though again this may be an association they'd prefer to avoid).

Totally agree and think itll probably be announced once they've played Japan. I think after Futurolgy's success they'll do a tour just for that, they'd be mad not to. then THB to finish the year off.

I'd think they'd announce it after V festival. Seeing as the festival probably doesn't appreciate them announcing it before having performed (and probably contractually obliged).

Why would they have to wait for V? What would be in the contract that would stop them announcing a tour?
