I love everything fades! Oh the beautiful melacholy! Admitedly I feel it's Bradders that have the voice in the band. You can't really beat it. I love TGW equally as much a IKTZ ,they are very different and it depends on what mood I am in. Saying that there is a a very human vurnerable sound to Nickys voice which I find very pleasing. I think cringiest Nicky vocal is probably Wattsville Blues, particularly live on the Cuba DVD, I just cant bring myself to watch/hear it!!!

I still love Everything Fades too, definitely my favourite thing to have come out of the whole solo tour era, and depending on my mood my favourite thing by any of the manics for quite some time.

Anyway I thought I'd post cos its a year since the album was released, so erm Happy Birthday IKTZ or whatever. Everyone should go listen to it, wear salmon pink, or get horribly drunk, fall over and put glitter on their cheeks to celebrate the fact inspite of everything potentially going against it was actually really well good

I loved it as soon as I played it. It should have been more successful than it was. It deserved to be anyway. I quite like how crappy his voice is

Do you mean the NME one with the desert wine was it? It was very funny - in a way he sometimes seems to work better in videoed interviews than in print as I think sometimes people can miss the sense of humour/self mocking behind things. Although he needs to get some darker tinted sunglasses as you can always see when he's doing the shut my eyes to think thing in the ones he keeps wearing.

I agree - in printed interviews Nicky can just come across as nasty sometimes, whereas in video and radio interviews it's clear from the tone of his voice that although he means what he says, he's not being vindictive about it.

I don't think that even the most hardcore Nicky fan would ever argue that he has the 'best' voice in the band, nevertheless I still enjoy listening to his voice and prefer his album to James's, because of its messiness, not despite it.

Mrs manics and I have discussed this many times. Some interviews his eyes are shut all the way through and it seems like he thinks we cant see his eyes or like when a child covers up their face they think we cant see them! Hilarious!
Yeah i meant the NME interview, his eyes were actually open and he was smiling. That interview was classic wire, it reminded me of how much he rocks!

Yes, it's nearly flawless.

"You Will Always Be My Home" would've made a fine single.

IKTZ has been a pretty special record to me... i find myself unable to just listen to one or two tracks at a time. to me it's one of those albums where i have to put it on and listen to it start to finish and really soak it all in. as a result, i don't particularly listen to it as often as i want... i have to set aside the time for it or the occasional long drive, y'know?

My girlfriend has a few of the tracks randomly in her car and they're really quite pretty in isolation. I'd only listened to the album as a whole beforehand.

I've listened to the album a couple of times this week, i agree with the prettiness of some of the tracks on thier own.

I cannot stand that song.

I quite like the rest though. I listen to it quite a bit, usually just odd songs but sometimes the whole thing.
