Han on wtf are you on about sense of entitlement?
I'm a fucking FAN that wants to see my favourite band - as I stated I have NEVER before moaned about anything they have done.
They have played Glastonbury before and I ain't been bothered but c'mon THB is clearly a special album with significance for a lot of fans and I'm pretty certain although we will survive and live with it, it will piss a lot of us off and it's just a really shit thing to do.
Hardly a sense of entitlement!! Nothing wrong with wanting something is there?

They're only a band, if they want to do something why shouldn't they?
I'm all for them doing whatever they want 99% of the time, but come on, if they did do something like this and left nearly the entirety of their fanbase out of it, it would just stink. I don't expect them to do it, but IF they do, the people they should be considering after themselves are their fans. Glastonbury is expensive and difficult and a thousand other things. If it wasn't a one-off, fair enough, but if it was that would definitely be a 'fuck you'.

My sole gripe is that they want to do it at Glasto, which would exclude a very large chunk of their fan base. Even a bloody competition gig would probably have more real fans in the crowd. Why play it in front of people who don't give a shit about the band?

It'll probably be on Radcliffe & Maconie at somepoint before the end of their show.

so many familiar faces in the audience. shame they didn't show This Is Yesterday, it's always special. the new material sounds great live, especially Anthem.
There's something in between Glastonbury and a competition gig though; both those extremes seem stupid to me. Not to mention, it always sells out way in advance of the line-up being announced, so unless you already have a ticket, it's unlikely you'd get to go.

I don't think Nicky is being serious about it anyway, in terms of it being at Glasto at least. I think a THB gig elsewhere would be amazing though.

It would be a kick in the teeth for one of their most seminal albums to be played in full at Glastonbury rather than say a mini tour or a residency somewhere. Considering how notoriously difficult it is to get tickets for Glasto, it would be completely impossible for that album to connect to the masses and it would be a lost cause for the band. However, the band don't owe us anything so they can do what they want.

Having given this a second thought i think it could only work in an envirmoent that was meant for fans of the band only, a festival just wouldnt be the setting for such a gig, the only postive i can see by doing it at a festival is less pressure for the band...

but its a period of time for the band that i dont think would work as well now...i would have loved seeing it done in 94 with all its venom, bite and vitriol but if it was done now i cant help think it would be just a watered down version and ultimatley dissapoint those who want to hear it so much

songs from GT work well that way, but i dunno...

Extra JDB solo song from this on 6Music in a mo!

TIY!

With added flamenco-style noodling at the end!
