of course, difference of opinion makes life interesting.

It feels like sometimes he just doesn't try and has gotten lazy. Same as live, when he's content to stand there with his guitar hanging to the side while Wayne butchers songs.

It's not fair to look back and compare the early stuff to now but even to compare his voice when singing on Even in Exile (apparent from the first song: Recuerda) with alot of the recent manics output - soul less and emotionless. Just the same tone and phrasing, even when it doesn't fit and is jarring like in Divine Youth.

Ordered.
I thought £30 to Canada was a lot for shipping. Passed on it and probably will get it from Amazon.

Was thinking bout that Nile Rogers online thing where he sang last Christmas...bit too shouty . I much preferred the shy quiet version on TFI ...

Argh! Imagine YLA or any duet sung between JDB and Nile Rogers?
You can see why they invented medications to stop people imagining what that would be like.

True Last Christmas doesn't really work when it's shouted at you....that aside James shouting orders is all good with me

Small bit of Nile Rodgers trivia - at the Acoustic Guitar Show in 2014(?), JDB came on after Nile and said "wow... that boy can talk and he can play". Then JDB played I think a bit of the Stevie Ray Vaughan solo of Bowie's Last Dance and no one recognised it.

Just listened to the airwaves version of Bright Eyes. If James put that effort/emotion into their current recorded output it'd be great.

My partner has been listening closely to 'Orwellian' to try and learn the lyrics, because she likes to sing along.

"Oh my god, why was George Orwell burning foxes? I didn't realise he was so awful!"
"What...?"
"The future fights a fox, the fox begins to burn. That's horrible. What a bastard!".

Classic Jimbo vocal delivery wins again.

Someone here said it was "The future fucks the past, the books begin to burn" and now that is what I will hear forever.

On first listen I thought it was "the future fucks the past, the fucks begin at birth", and now I hear that every time. I know the real lyrics, I see how they work, but I can't make them fit in my head.

I mean I still hear "the Morrissey, the less ice cream", so...

I read someone said that the other week on here and occasionally, despite knowing it's not the lyric, keep singing that haha. Probably always will do now!

My bad (unless someone else did it before me). Sorry for putting swear words into everyone's heads!
