In case the band members are too busy to think of the proper artwork for the album, but still want to be seen as, well, intellectuals, me and google suggest they shorten the title and use the following paintings (no royalties required, thank you) :

front cover

Jean-Michel Rossi
picture for .... demonstration.
The original size is 21 cm x 29,7 cm. It is on a light piece of agglomerated wood. The colors are ink on white oil paint and the letters were made with a spray.

back cover

David Austen
2008, oil on flax canvas, 168 x 153 cm

I'm sure a number of us know that Golden Platitudes is a track name that may or may not make it to the new album, but I thought I'd put that down for those who've had that news pass them by.

They've signed a new contract with Sony - does anybody actually know what this entails, number of albums-wise?

Cool.

We should start a new thread where we post prototype album covers based on the working title. They could be funny, serious, whatever....

Sony resigned 3 artists from 2 divisons (Columbia, Epic etc...) last year for 4 more albums, one of those artists has to be the Manics!

But didn't the band resign this year?

I think the title sounds like a Meat Loaf song title, which makes me want there to be a 9-minute title track crammed with instruments, fierce rock soloing and passionate dueting between James and Nicky.

If you could remove the stalls then no problem but I think we can safely rule this one out unless there is another Victoria Hall?
mothers_are_saints however wins the first venue suggestion of the threaaaad!

And I still love the whole of the title.
Sorry for delayed reply lol!

Seats can be removed… Weller, OCS and plenty of others have played there in the last couple of years without stalls
