Loved it from the start, but I’m enjoying this album more and more with repeated listens. Quite the trick to have such atmospheric pieces of music amongst such catchy, hooky bits that get lodged in your head.

Maybe this has been screamingly () obvious to everyone already, but I just realised Patrick Jones’ poetry on GT formed the intro for... Love’s Sweet Exile.

I really like that, that there’s a nod to the Manics in the choice of title for this album (PJ&JDB’s work), that has a connection to Patrick on a Manics record. It’d be a pretty large coincidence if not an intentional additional meaning.

Yeah... ‘Versus Echo With Tear Flow’ is yet another member of the wonderful-yet-128kbps club! Make yourself at home with your new friends, the likes of ‘untitled_instrumental’ and ‘Vision Blurred’!

It reminds me a bit of Moonlight Shadow (not a bad thing in my book).

Ahh i see. Well then, i do agree she is a savvy business woman but given how predatory the industry is and now that music has been devalued to the point of essentially free you have to be really. And of course she has some bangers...

Yup. Such a shame because i absolutely adore vision blurred, a cover i know but i don't think i've ever heard the original so it feels like a manics track to me now.
I'm falling for these two new tracks and verses echo, with tear flow deserves a high quality release.

so, I've bought physical copies already from HMV and the official store, and as they didn't arrive in time for my trip north on Friday I ended up streaming the album in full twice on the drive... if I stream it a few times more today, is that going to add anything to those sales numbers and final chart position?

Apparently "100 paid streams will equal one sale, as will 600 free streams". I can't see how anyone makes money out of music nowadays unless it's through advertising or gigs obvs. I remember the band Shame joking as they had racked up a million streams (or something) they could now afford to buy a Twix and share it.

I naturally assumed a paid stream was worth the same as a physical sale, it's the same price isn't it, more or less?

Even In Exile deserves to be a No 1 but unless Biffy fans go and buy a copy of it as well I'm not hopeful it will end up on top. Top 10 would still be epic though! Go James and Patrick!

Can someone remind me please, where folk were getting the version with the demo disc from? Was that a pre-order special somewhere?

You had to preorder any format of the album from the official store in order to receive a link to download the five demos on release day. They haven't been released physically.

It was fine tho, she asked good questions, polite and professional rather than the banter you get from some others that are used to interviewing him.

I streamed the album all the way through today on paid Spotify, will do so again later, not that will make a single bit of difference haha.

"American Rapper" Tch! It would be some nonsense like that. "Who died in February 2020" ooh oww... Well I don't follow that scene. No idea who's who.
Of course it'll be the second week drop off that'll be interesting to watch.
