I’m going to have to stop reading these comments, it’s not helping my “will not listen to the album until Monday” stance.

Although it's a ball ache having to sift through iplayer to listen every time, I must admit, in the absence of leaks etc, I'm quite enjoying getting a trickle of songs everyday. Much better than when we had to listen to all that shit on 6Music all day for RTF

Must have been the song my brother heard as he text me this just after 11:30am today;

"Just heard another new Futurology track on the radio. Started out relatively bland, a bit like some of the boring tracks from Lifeblood, but ended up with Beach Boys style harmonies. Very interesting."

Between the Clock and the Bed is just lovely.
I have slightly mixed feelings about Sex, Power Love and Money, not really that keen on the half-talky vocal, like AK47, it's like all that 'Contagious, like a Suntan' business from the end of Roses in the Hospital only for whole verses… but otherwise it's pretty cool.

The music in Black Square is just so different for the Manics, yet matches James's voice perfectly. What an insanely good reinvention. One of the best songs they have ever recorded.

The last section of "Between The Clock and The Bed" - with those Beach Boys style harmonies - sounds like Foxtrot era Genesis!! I love it

Ta for all the radio links, I'm really enjoying these tracks. This album will be more polished than I'd anticipated but there are some interesting sounds and good melodies here.

BUT. Is James trying to rap on Sex...?
