I'm not a "fan" but, God, I love them so much.
The Next Jet to Leave Moscow is one of the best songs ever written.

Lovely Richey tributes at @Manics @TheDanforthMH tonight incl Nicky Wire with first utterance of word DIDACTIC I have heard in Canada #THB20 (along with various other tweets from him) Well, he's barely famous these days but if you're a video game fan of a certain age he's a legend. |

Ok they are not famous but I thought it was cute when The Mirror Trap (just toured with Placebo) posted this on fb...
"While driving to Birmingham today we had a stop off at a service station somewhere in the North of England, where we just happened to meet the MANIC STREET PREACHERS! Massive fan boy moment. I was shaking for about half an hour afterwards. Total heroes, and bloody nice guys." Bless! Feels like everyone is talking about the Manics atm. They generally seem to be getting the recognition they deserve. |

Switched on the television just as Manic Street Preachers were on live in Cardiff and they were um... incredible?! Ellie Goulding, as in the current and relevant pop star Ellie Goulding. Nicky will be having kittens at such attention. |

Joey Barton just tweeted a verse of Philip Larkin
@Joey7Barton: Man hands on misery to man. It deepens like a coastal shelf Get out as early as you can, And don't have any kids yourself. #philiplarkin This obviously means he's a Manics fan right?

Do you reckon he put a Coventry accent on to read it to himself?

don't know if it's been mentioned elsewhere on here, but Noel G sings "You can pit your gold against my soul" in Revolution Song on his recent album - a vague reference that neatly ties in with some of the praise he's sent their way this year (although Google has just told me the track's actually an unused Oasis song from circa 1999)...

The "here's another Sunday morning-" vs. "the future teaches you to-". Not quite a rip-off, but definitely rings some bells to me. My simple elementary school student mind at that time simply concluded Oasis were inspired by the Manics.
