More of a reflection on music in general, but how fucking weird it is that not only can you listen to a bands new album for FREE at midnight on the day of the release, but that the bands website and mailing list will link you straight to it.

Seems bands have reached peace with getting a million listen at 0.000000001p a listen over assuming most of them will buy stuff. One of the reasons I buy the signed tat each time round I suppose.

Suddenly remembering about the sparkly mannequins and dog (that looked like a rat) that graced the Manics stage set around the early 2010s

What the fuck was that about?

I think someone said Nicky's dog had died recently
He picked it up after one gig and walked off stage with it ... I did find that a bit weird at the time but didn't know about the dog.
No idea on the reasoning for the others tho. Quite liked the sparkles. Was this the last tour with the feather boas on the mic stand ?

Didn't he kill Denise, the mannequin at the end of the tour by pushing her off the speakers?
(I only know she was called Denise because that was the name coined by this forum)

Something like that yes, think they’re embracing the online thing a bit more this year, ironically

RSD records are going on sale online at 6pm on Saturday. The stores are not allowed to sell them online before that time.
