SAY HELLO TO THE POPE USED ON NEWSNIGHT!!!

Whatever you think of the Pope's visit to Britain... Newsnight used this track in their report!
The report is still on... we might hear it again!

No, we just got the riff in the background at the end of the report.
Newsnight used the intro riff and the "So say hello to the Pope!" bit.
It'll probably be on i-player soon... but not everyone can see that so...

I remember the confusion when that song first came out, I was sure it was a euphemism.

That's awesome, there's either a fan working on the show or someone who basically just googled 'songs about the Pope'

Nice to see the people in charge of the Newsnight VT's are pushing the boundaries of illustrative music choices.

Everything's a euphamism from James. I've got a slightly disturbing mental image of James using that on his wedding night. "C'mon love, say 'ello to the Pope!" *zip*...

They should have used Tim Minchin's song. Much more fitting.

Before James went to Rome to get married in 2004 the old lady that lived in his apartment block said say hi to JP for me.

He got married in Florence, not Rome!
