Random thoughts...

God YES! HELL YES! I need this noooooow! Love the cover, bulletproof n' classic, looks like they mean business.
Snippets sound like....like...sparkly white piano avec flyin' fake blood... "Lifeblood" - HURRAH!
[Ponders] No backwards 'R's, what can it mean? [Ponders]
It's being "Released" and not "Dropped" - MORE HURRAHS!
[Ponders] mmm that title. Lawd, please don't let the songs be bloody 'Trump inspired' [Ponders]
Ruddy hell five months??? Nurse, prepare the cryogenic chamber...

I'll see your Ian Brown and raise you The Eagulls (even stevens actually - although the memory of Ian Brown covering Billie Jean in 2002 in Newcastle when he was the support act takes some beating.)

Very excited for the album........ however, arena tour! I don’t think so. Shame as the smaller venues suit them..... arena will be soulless, gutted I won’t see them.

What a pleasant surprise. On the day that Morrissey releases a new album, the Manics announce a new album. I'm back in the 1990's again. Or maybe I never left. Love the promo video and the music. A very excited 49 year old here.

The snatches of songs in the video trailer sound great!

It's nice to still have them around and get that little shiver of excitement with the first listen of new songs. Enjoy this contradictory, fascinating, weird and lovely old band while you can.

The themes they describe for the new album (memory and loss; forgotten history; confused reality and art as a hiding place and inspiration) sound really interesting.

And I like the idea of "obsessively melodic".

BUT, I have no interest in "orchestral sweep", which to me just reads as "over-produced".

I'm sure I'll love the album, but they need to dial back their proclivity toward overbearing production a bit.

This must be a manics album announcement day, i never could get the hang of manics album announcement days.

It doesn't take long for the griping to start huh? Once you see posters barely in double figures remembering their passwords so they can tell us the album artwork is shit. I love it myself, the title is a bit on the nose but i'm a trek fan so i'll take it! The album trailer has some intriguing sounding stuff... ahhh still the only band to make me really excited for new stuff. No more albums indeed... *shakes fist* wirrrrrre!

I think there’s actually a lot of us who are also Trek fans...must be some kind of crossover appeal
