Good lord... it's easy to forget steps have an ageing demographic too.
The world is getting older...

How absolutely charming, i love him for that. If it was possible to love him more.

In celebration of James's greatest tweet ever, I've bought the reverse art vinyl.

Win or lose, it’s been worthwhile. Steps fans have taught us much about the art of chart warfare. I wonder how many No.1s Nicky could have had if we’d known you’re supposed to actually download the digital versions you buy for them to count? Poor RIF.

It is interesting how much they're throwing at getting the number one album.... or is this sort of new offer every day of the week of a new album the current normal? I wonder who is behind it - are the label chasing it or is it the band (I get the feeling Nicky is the one who takes the most pride from chart positions).

Know your enemy indeed, they may have won the battle but have they won the war? I can imagine wire sat there in his war room with his strategy laid out on the table, planning the next offensive. At the moment it must resemble the final scenes of downfall.

It's not war, just the end of the chart week....

They are idiots though for not doing the usual TV stuff this week that they always do - BBC News, Radio 4, Five Live etc. Something must be up if they didn't do the Brunch thing.

Well yeah. I still have the lists i used to make of their appearances so i wouldn't miss any. Check this out for 2018 around the time of resistance is futile, and it's still kinda modest compared to previous album releases (2013 and 2014 in particular are busy):

jo whiley, radio 2
steve lamacq, 6music
danielle perry, absolute
john kennedy, radio x
the one show
loose ends, radio 4
eddy temple-morris, virgin radio
afternoon edition, 5 live
sunday brunch
later... live with jools holland
