250 Greatest Albums of Q's Lifetime

Q are doing a special issue for their 25th anniversary issue: The 250 greatest albums of their lifetime (they do love a good list!).

http://news.qthemusic.com/2010/06/ch...st_albums.html

All you have to do is nominate 5 albums before september 30th and you get a chance of winning all 250 albums! These albums have to be from 1986 onwards which rules out a lot of the big boys, Beatles, Hendrix, Zeppelin etc.. So I think it's The Holy Bible's time to shine (I voted it along with GT)!

Lets. Do. This.

If we all cast our votes I'm sure we can get them higher... Don't want a Radiohead clean sweep again now do we?

my first instinct, before clicking on this, was that "fucking Radiohead will be #1". giving it some thought, however, let us not forget that Q magazine has a pathological idolization of the likes of Sting, Bono and Phil Collins. expect the winner to be whoever will give them the tastiest interview and cover story.

Don't get me wrong, I do love Ok computer. But it's A LIST IN Q you know what's gonna happen. I'm just complaining in advance. All exaggeration aside, the top 20 will be entirely predictable. Just look at the comments.

oh, didn't get you wrong - just popped my general dislike of Radiohead in with a response. whether you like Radiohead or not is pretty academic - this is Q, and they will be Top 3, whether they should be or not.

i can't access that Q site from work (must have streaming audio or video on it?), shall do my bit for the Manics from home. although as The Joshua Tree was released after 1986 and Bono on cover = increased sales, i suspect it might be all rather academic.

They love the Gallaghers too, so Definitley Maybe must be in with more than a shout - that Beady Eye and Noel solo album will be out in the not too distant future so they'll be giving interviews...

just on that note

Beady Eye To Be Bigger Than Oasis

yeah, OK

top five to feature Joshua Tree, Stone Roses, OK Computer, Morning Glory, with the five being rounded out by a token American inclusion - great if it is a Springsteen, but most likely Nevermind.

I did read that story, bless him - the thought of Noel 'Crawling back' did make me giggle!

As for Nevermind, not even my favourite Nirvana album - I put In Utero in my top 5 along with THB, GT, Sound of Silver by LCD Soundsystem and Is This It.
