My first album was EMG - bought at the record shop I now live down the street from. Of course it was years after the fact - I missed out on all the 90s memories.

I wonder how many they've sold in America though - probably like 1000. XD

Ditto!
It was riding a crest of a wave which kept going to the Millennium gig....Truth is probably the album i've played most thinking about it because i never stopped playing it for those 2 years. Life felt good back then compared to now too.

A lot of people thought TIMT boring,in fact if you went to a Tupperware, Avon or someone's dinner party in the late 90's Truth was always one as the background music

I think the main reason that helps an album sell is not the theme of a whole album but the first single. Tolerate faired extremely well around the whole of europe and even made a few college radio playlists in the states, DFL was a huge hit in the UK but didn't really make waves anywhere else. Same applies to YLAINE. TLORN received very little media attention and only a cunning 3 singles for £5 (was it??) gave it the high chart postion due to the cult following the Manics have. I think if the first new single gets a huge amount of exposure the Manics can continue the 'Indian Summer' so to speak.

can still remember hardly sleeping the night Truth was released and then collecting the special edition of it i'd reserved with the fancy silver blocked lettering on the cd case...it was a pretty hot day and i used to walk 3 miles to work so my first listen to it was on my sony discman on that walk to work. It blew me away so i was cocooned and immersed in this little world of beautiful sounds in my ears oblivious to the world around me just going about their daily rituals.

Completely agree, it would be great if they could end the year by crawling their way back into Arenas other then small venues,

Haha myself and a mate got the wrong day for that gig, blitzed down the Motorway parked up, ran to the venue had the tickets ripped then got called back,

"Guys, don't you think its a bit quiet for a Manic Street Preachers gig?"

"Wha?"

"The gigs tomorrow"

We couldnt book the following day off, The Depeche Mode gig was cancelled the day before as well.
