On the one hand they must be shitting themselves the Manics aren't having a two year gig break, on the other. Why? What were they ever good for? But then maybe it's a plot, The Enemy make everyone think their next album is shit by bringing out the most ripped off song on the disc?
And I'm not even an Enemy fan. I say this out of a kindness they don't even deserve for this steal and hope the press rips them to shreds (Which they won't as they need the traffic to hype...) Last edited by Son of Stopped; 22-02-2012 at 10:11. Reason: in rage wrote got instead of good |

I don't think it's such a big deal - its not the most unique or original guitar line in the history of music. The problem I have with listening to that clip is that The Enemy are beyond shite. It's an absolute embarrassment that Jimbo invited them on stage to play one of the manics most signature tunes at an important moment in their recent resurgence.

Don't mind a couple of The Enemy's songs.

I feel sorry for them, the first album was ok as a first attempt, but they seem to have run out of ideas pretty quickly.
That chip shop indie sound was dated 10 years ago. I can't believe anyone would listen to this out of choice. Last edited by Bathtub; 22-02-2012 at 11:24. |

I really like The Enemy and have enjoyed both of their albums but it's so blatently obvious that Tom, the singer, fancies himself as a modern day version of The Jam' Paul Weller. His stage mannerisms, the way he throws his guitar around on stage, etc is pure Weller. I can't knock him for trying to sound like one of my favourite artists. As for this song, it's not bad, despite the "Found That Soul" rip.

There's retro and then there's dated. This sounds very dated. Don't mind The Enemy, saw them once but this is... meh
