Are all you people saying things like Condemned To Rock N Roll and Repeat actually high?

If I wanted to see a bad Guns N Roses impersonation I'd go see.. well, the present-day Guns N Roses, I guess.

I didn't know that, I got Ifwhiteamerica at Wolves. I shall have to try and have a listen to 4st 7lbs off that tour, I can only imagine it sounding really really awkward.

It looked and felt very awkward too. Or at least I though so. They didn't look comfortable playing it and people in the audience near me didn't seem to get much out of it. I hope they don't play it anymore, there's far better live songs on The Holy Bible..

Yes, I quite agree. Everyone seemed to be just watching them play it in shock.

God, I would slit my wrists if they played repeat again. God talk about one of the worst songs ever written. It's awful!

this coming from someone who loves most of their songs.

I do agree with donkey, I'd love to hear hibernation live! Such a beautiful song. Then again I do love bored out of my mind, never want again, and a few other b-sides.

hmmmm perfect setlist would consist of....... going there and actually enjoying the atmosphere and the crowd moshing to every song and not fucking complaining there's not a song they want played.
God fucking sake, I would love them to play many songs, but its not gonna happen. I would like sleepflower and Yourself played, but thats only coz I feel they're better than roses in the hospital, from despair to where and la tristessa. I'm not working would be there too, coz I love that song, same goes for nobody loves you as that's just a pure rock moment. Just so long as the opening riff/solo gets note perfect and blows you away like the album version does, if not just don't bother.
She Is Suffering would appear there somewhere too. Archives would get a look in like the last tour breaking in from a accoustic to full band. pure brilliance!!
Further away would be good too I feel live. Bring back there by the grace of god, forever delayed, and door to the river(if only with orchestral backing).
Otherwise than that i'd be happy listening to what they wanna play and enjoy.
Anyhow i'm sure they'd enjoy it more if the fans were more up for it rather than whinging like i've seen on DOZENS of threads on here.

Was it really that long? None of the other PPF gigs were? They were about an hour and a half, and soton has the same setlist.

Edit: Nah, it was about 1hr30-1hr40max, same as the others.

As the expectant crowd jostles for position after being entertained by the surprise support act, Pantera, an all-encompassing darkness floods the venue, and a loud cheer, followed by an awed and slightly fearful hush can be heard from the crowd.

The first few seconds of Beck's The New Pollution plays.

James Dean Bradfield walks out on stage, wearing an inexplicably pink Les Paul. Silence. The crowd are frozen in frantic expectation as the man himself walks forward to speak to the faithful masses. As his lips purse against the microphone, his pained expression indicates singing, and indeed, with only his guitar as backup, Bradfield, (or "Bradders" as the locals at his favourite pub have affectionately dubbed him) Screams at the top of his voice:

"We... are... from wales.. we are... the Manic Street Preachers...

Silence. Silence for seconds, but feels like minutes. The tension in the crowd is illustrated by several loud explosions, these, we can only surmise, are the heads of several young girls, who would like to "shag" mr Bradfield.

More silence. The crowd grows ever more restless. But, just before a riot breaks out, just before all hope is lost, we may hear Noam Chomsky's sampled polemic, faithfully played through the P.A system of the Hare and Hounds pub:

"The country was founded on the principle that the primary role of government is to protect property from the majority... And so it remains...

Full house lights. Crowd screams as messers Wire and Moore are revealed, in full Gestapo regalia. Moore clicks his drumsticks together four times, and the band instantly rips into a punk rock version of Kelly Clarkson's Since You've Been Gone.

The crowd goes mental with ecstatic adoration. Many of them will be dead come morning.
