Darn it! I thought you were our friends Biffy fans! Still chuffed to bits for James and Patrick. What an album to go top 10 with!

Didn't even make it to the Last Song, black wave came over me. Maybe this time? Hard listening to great music in bad times -- sometimes.
I thought i'd respond to your post as I notice quite a bit of RIF and Futorology run through the album with also elements of THB throughout. The Last Song seems to have hints of Archives of Pain and possibly James used those tones to highlight the atrocities of the time, like Richey did. I love the baroque style and folkie sounds, the instrumentals and how James's voice flows naturally through the guitar. The impact of the music and lyrics explains the story so well, which I didn't know before. Such an amazing album!

If you happen to have two vinyls, the back of one and the front of another line up to make the full mural

Pop Smoke was literally murdered earlier this year. Don't think anyone should be begrudging him a chart position.

Fair play to JDB on such a stellar album and doing such a positive promotional week for it. Given that on 6Music they were joking about the time a while back when he'd never sent an email, I can't imagine the idea of a week or two of Zoom interviews alongside making a podcast is how he envisioned ever doing an album rollout.

Good 2 page interview in current record collector September issue. James describes himself as an old bombastic fuck which made me chuckle. It's nice to see a proper lengthy piece rather than just 2 or 3 paragraphs interspersed with pictures.
Handy discography included too and nice moody full page photo 👍

Found an old BBC documentary of Jara on youtube. Gives a good sense of the man (as well as Joan) as well as his music, lyrics and the mood of the time in Chile. Very moving. Highly recommend it if you have a free hour:

Don't worry it was obvious you were only kidding! Just thought I'd mention it for those who didn't know as I don't think it was reported on much in the UK.
