I had added a lot of the old fan sites here:
http://visionblurred.moonfruit.com/#...nks/4535294534

Need to spend some time reviewing all the links - anything now unavailable can likely be viewed through Internet Archive's Wayback Machine, though.

I posted on the official MSP forum first, which I loved. I still wonder where all those guys got to, all these years later. I joined this forum yunks on end ago, too. Back then there was still a lot of rivalry between the two.

There was also another forum started by some guys who became disillusioned with the official forum and they had their own. I joined but they banned me when they realised I was still active on the official site.

Stay Beautiful is another one I remember, but again I never really posted there. Sparkle and Believe was very short lived, but I was fond of the girl who ran it so ended up joining. I'm not sure if anyone else remembers that one.

There's been some great sites over the years and all of them had their merits. For instance, this site was always a good deal more open and tolerant than the others. The Official site was more "spiky" etc. I still miss the official forum, too.

Happy days!

Sorry, but her name's completely escaped me now. Even so, I only ever knew her official forum unsername. Now that you've asked, it's going to bug me relentlessly. Ah well...

Why did the official site ditch the forum? I used to post on there a bit but then they changed it I think and it got crap, then it just disappeared. I was thinking about the official site the other week as I found a VHS compilation tape an Irish girl kindly sent me in early 2005 of some stuff I hadn't seen and a sparkly hand written note I don't know of anymore fan sites other than this place these days.

Possibly because it was a hive of scum and villainy? Having lived through the era of 4chan, gamergate and the alt-reich the trolling there feels like quaint nostalgia but there were some right old bastards that weren't beyond doxxing some decent people.

Lurked here a few years before I joined. Must've been pissed when I joined cos it wasn't until cracking on for a year later that I got an email saying happy birthday sculptureofabloke and thought ooooh that's me then...

Loved staybeautiful, tip me hat to MSPpedia. Struggle to remember which other sites I used to go on. Never actually registered with the official site forum. Did used to get excited when the wallpaper and shit'd change. Enoyed trying to cheat the Forever Delayed tour song poll. Disappointed that it was the obvious ones at the top, I think it was Epicentre bottom of the lot. Shame really, bet that poll would look a lot different today... Struggle to comprehend that I've been a fan longer than I haven't...

I went to Archives of Pain chat and the website message board. I also joined the Official site though I didn't come to the Manics sites again until I joined FD, though i've always stayed a fan of the Manics and bought their albums. I'm not sure if many completely left the Manics sites though. As Archives of Pain was everything Manics first time it was quite unexplainable, fun and addictive angst and pain.

I miss the red chat room that went "Fudder umf Dumf" when you entered it.
With more intrusion from the state coming in on online community and general Internet stuff, I can see how some order people fled.
And here I am all these years later. Well I find people online far more interesting than the people I live around.

Added a bunch of fan sites here, most viewable through Internet Archive so that old stuff no longer online can be seen! If anyone can think of anything I might be missing, do let me know. http://visionblurred.moonfruit.com/m...nks/4535294534

Archives of Pain was where I first started lingering. Lots of good arguments in there.
