So you think it will just be a chance to air the new songs? Plus a few greatest hits maybe? I maybe keep wrongly thinking of it as a warm-up.

i'd have said it was too early for a walm up for the tour, especaily as they have a festival inbertween
and i had in my head it was an album launch (so album songs) but i dont know where i heard that from and i do sometimes have a tendancy to make sutff up and convince myself its real |

Personally I don't think it'll be a full set, far from it. 12-13 songs, 5 or 6 from the new album with a smattering of classics. Something that perhaps resembles the Radio 1 gig for Lifeblood in 2004. Will give people enough time to get the last tube

That's cool, makes sense. Plus it would be nice to see a slightly original setlist as a result. I think It's Not War would sound amazing live.

I think I'd wait to find out who had actually won before concerning myself with the practicalities of getting there and whatnot tbh, but then I'm not the world's biggest optimist

I'd LOVE a ticket as it's my birthday at the wk end and I'd so love to go-it would make my year. Funny thing is I never win anything so I guess probably not BUT fingers crossed.

Cause it's so short notice I think it's okay to plan what travel you could go by and get a day off work or whatever just in case but I wouldn't book anything just yet!
I'm not that concerned with going. Ben and I have both applied and it would be nice to go but it's not the end of the world if I don't see the Manics. |

I'd love to go, but if I don't win then I don't.
At least this way, everyone has as much chance of winning as each other, unlike the King Tuts gig |

i'd assumed they were just going to play the album and nothing else

It'd be amazing being in a tiny venue (like Tuts) being treated to the new songs, but it'll hardly be the greatest gig ever. Like Khizar said, it'd be just like a Maida Vale showcase.

You're immensely confident about getting tickets aren't you?!
Yeah, same. I've entered, but seeing as it's on my mum's birthday, I'm not too fussed about winning. But reading the thread in places it seems like everyone already has a ticket!

Haven't even bothered entering, think I spent all my luck points on getting King Tut's tickets and couldn't afford to get down there anyway.
Can't wait to see the setlist.

Not having a go but people seem less enthusaiastic or concerned about a gig consisting of brand new Manics songs in a tiny venue than over King Tuts, which was just a standard gig (admittedly with an amazing setlist), why is this?
That said, I hope to go but at least it was a fair fight if I don't win.
