SMTW & RTF prove me now after being a fan for many, many, many years that this band still matter as songwriters. This is an important period.

If Nicky isn't singing the demo I'll be mighty miffed.

Yeah, the fragility of Nicky's voice definitely works 100% on that particular tune. I love his singing on the likes of the Ballad of the Bangkok Novotel etc too, but just think they underestimate how important JDB's singing is in terms of the general musical appeal of MSP.

Great to hear the fella belting out this killer new single. Lovely stuff!

Didn't stop me dead in my tracks the way Rewind The Film did, but was already growing on me by the end of the first play. And I think that's what pop songs are supposed to do.

Fascinated by how wonderful this album could be…

Horrible. Absolutely horrible! The cheesiest thing they've done in ages.
At least Rewind the Film was quite good though.

Btw, Sean Read doesn't actually play the trumpet on the song as he does in the video....

It's growing on me more with each listen.

Sorry, why it not possible to enjoy the music without having to 'get over' pointing out similarities and references? That's part of the fun. You get over it. :lol

I do think phrases like 'ripping off' and 'pinching' are a bit daft, but still...

I think it's quite good, I can see what the person who compared it to Out of Time was on about.

At the risk of being lynched I think this is my idea of what PFAYM was supposed to sound like - big, upbeat, radio-friendly and a classic sound with a nice catchy hook. Better late than never!

Agreed. And it doesn't sound forced, which was my main problem with PFAYM.

I will never love it, but it's pretty good. A nice pop song that should be a good radio hit for them.

Hopefully they don't ruin it with loads of tacky sounding keyboards when playing it live.

Could do without most of the album being covered in horns and the like though.

I didn't hear the entire song in full as had to start work but I caught the first minute or so. It definately sounds motown influenced. I hope it sits well on the album as it does seem to be incredibly uplifting and soulful.
