I'm amazed I've not seen you at one of their gigs. Unless the tallish girl wearing an army hat who told me where to find your brother when I was selling him a ticket for last year's Barrowlands gig was you... Which, now that I think of it, seems rather likely...
That was me!

I always do all the Scottish dates (seems wrong not to)

Only 6 times.
Looking at some of the other lists helped with dates, cheers...All London.

3/6/93 Marquee...if this was the 'secret' gig billed as "Generation Terrorists"
2/3/94 Clapham Grand
28/5/94 Brockwell Park
21/12/94 Astoria

And two I have no idea of the dates. One with Blaggers ITA and Credit To The Nation but I can't for the life of me remember where it was and the Hibernian Club in Fulham when the 'support' was St Etienne playing records or something or other and loads of balloons fell from the ceiling at the end...god I'm old...

Not bad considering in 2002 I wrote in a diary 'It's my dream to see the Manics 5 times in my life, being realistic they're not going to be around much longer'
Twas my 10th gig tonight (Edinburgh Corn Exchange) I'm oddly proud, for no reason obviously since everyone else has seen them a million billion times.

A few things I notice:
1. I am very surprised by how many of you only started going to gigs after 2001!
2. I am very impressed that those who started going to gigs after 2001 have been to so many gigs already.
3. I used to buy and contribute to all those excellent MSP fanzines in the era 1996 - 1999. Some fans in those days went to every date of a tour. I even met a few of the English crowd in Belfast one night. All of these fans would be in their 30s now, so I'm guessing they have families and mortgages etc and therefore don't post on here. (hence the majority of more recent gig showings)

As far as I recall I've been to:
Dec 1996 - Belfast, Northern Ireland (Either Ulster Hall or The Empire - cannot remember)
Aug 1998 - Slane Castle, Republic of Ireland (Supported Robbie Williams and The Verve)
Aug 1998 - Ulster Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland (Best gig - the very night that Manics secured their first ever number one single with "Tolerate")
May 1999 - King's Hall, Belfast, Northern Ireland
May 2005 - Hammersmith, London, England

(I think there was another cancelled Northern Ireland show in the 1990s. I was also supposed to work at the concert in Bournemouth's BIC in 2007 but was signed off work with a broken foot just the day before and spent the day in hospital)

I would imagine age has a lot to do with that for many posters here. I was only 15 in 2001 and didn't get into the Manics until 2002, so that's why my list starts in 2003 Plus I wouldn't have been able to afford to go to many (if any) gigs before then really and I didn't get into the whole gig going thing until I was 17/18.

well i'm in my 30's have job, house, husband, kids etc but i would say i've been to more gigs recently than when i was younger. My gig attendance spans over 18 years having first seen them in 92, when i was just 17, however although a huge fan i neve really felt like doing the whole queue, barrier whole tour thing until around 2004 when i went to more then one gig per tour for the first time and realised it was so much more fun so i have only done approx 20 gigs in total
