Glasgow standing is £38.50, that's ok I thought it was £53 regardless.

I don't doubt they sell out their own tours, I just wasn't sure if their fans would be rabid enough to rush and buy all the tickets to see them support the Manics.

I suppose it's similar to when Razorlight supported them on the Lifeblood tour...Razorlight were more popular than the Manics at the time (not that that lasted long).

Shit... Why so? Thought the Royal Albert would have been a fantastic venue, one l've always fancied seeing a concert in, please enlighten, considering a trip to London from Norway for this.

Thanks for validating my mad decision to keep my Swansea tickets! Glasgow's 4 hours closer, but Swansea has better support and I know a few people going. If the Glasgow venue is shite, I won't bother with the hassle of trying to rearrange!

I've never been to a rock gig there, but I'm assuming the (very good for orchestral music) acoustics probably have a tendency to fail miserably when introduced to loud rocking and rolling. Perhaps a bit like rock shows in churches- unless there's a lot of dampening it's going to sound godawful.

I went in late 90s and loved it but it wasn't rock music. Multi tiered venues are harder work to make the acoustics great for everyone at all levels anyway and I guess more so to cope with all types of music. I'd rather go there for Everything Must Go than a characterless arena tho. It's beautiful there and if they did have a string section* it would be my first choice of London venue anyway.
*can't see they will be able to tour with even a small string section but stranger things have happened, havn't they? *prays to music gods*

Really hope they play the album as a 3 piece. I know it'll miss the strings but they've said it sounded amazing with just the 3 of them playing it during Holy Bible shows in rehearsal.

Personally the RAH is a very good venue for gigs on the whole, the small standing area makes it very special.

I loved the RAH as a gig venue when I went...didn't notice any issues with the sound and the grand building adds to the sense of occasion.

The RAH is one of the few MSP gigs I'd consider getting seats for, just so you can take it in a bit.

Feeling quite lucky given the inconvenience people are talking about having committed to Swansea from where the fuck ever. From Manchester, Leeds and Liverpool are piss easy, can catch the last train home, job's a good un. Still gonna do Swansea, do fancy Glasgow though... Saw em at SECC and thought that was shit, so no idea what to expect from Hydro except the warnings on here.. Eh, I've always had fun in Glasgow.
