That's amazing to see the written lyrics like that ❤

The cd is a none shiny paper booklet of the lyrics and artwork. The vinyl looks really nice.

Those lyric sheet scans look like the ones in the CD booklet.

And Tove Lo who has been lauded for the way she is a savvy, modern pop star pretty much does an album every couple of years too. And the one time she did try to do the "quick and often" thing, she lost a bit of cred for effectively chucking out a bunch of half finished stuff.
Oh there are definitely exceptions, and it seems that artists are definitely operating on their own timeframes now, some quicker than others. But I can't think of many examples of charting artists who've put out albums two years in a row lately. Ariana Grande did it and it was another case of the media praising her for having the creativity for doing so (as if it had never been done before), and both Taylor Swift and Charli XCX have done them as responses to COVID. But it does seem to be very much the exception these days, whereas in the past nobody batted an eyelid if an album quickly followed a previous one.

I used to have a poster of those lyric sheets. Might still have it hidden away somewhere in my garage!

2. Vinyl
3. T-shirt
4. More polaroids from the era
5. More lyrics artwork as in original
6. Kieran Evans thingy
7. B-sides all together (joint best b-sides era for me with TIMT and SATT)

WHAT WE'LL GET
1. None of the above but we are suckers!

In all seriousness, would love a HD version of the Reading/Leeds gig as well. Think only the shitty stream exists on YouTube.
A DVD of Reading would be a very beautiful thing indeed. Such a monster setlist, very much of its time but so fan-oriented for a festival set, long before the "love love love enough" songs.

Not long now!

Has there been any nuggets of news on when this could come out and what to expect? Hope it's more comprehensive that the GATS re-issue that was vastly over priced for 2 CDs and a book (albeit a very large and beautiful looking book).

It'll be here before you know it, just make the most of Christmas!
And UEF, yeah. Those handwritten lyrics are in the CD booklet.

I'm hoping for a Wire solo album 2 announcement around Xmas (for no other reason than IKTZ dropping on Xmas day), this being announced in March , and then next manics album for June (tying in with the rearranged Cardiff dates).
No chance probably but we can hope.

In the interview with Dave Eringa on Do You Love Us? he did say there is a concept/manifesto for the next album, which is encouraging.

In an interview, James said they were about to start practicing and recording until the Welsh lockdown came in.

Expect news every time I see this thread bumped

I really, really hope they do it early in 2021. Album was a March release wasn’t it? Hopefully we get an announcement soon for a March release next year.
