And for a Comedian, the piano at the start sounds uncannily Indie! (Video not dig at JDB's appearance because he's looking amazing now, it was more a piano interlude section. Which yes, keep that for a few more years. Even if it's just a keyboard with piano sample! It does look Uncle at the Casio on Christmas, but you'll have two sets of Manics live either side)

Very spookily enough, I asked James at the RiF signing in Rough Trade, as to whether he'd bring out the keyboards himself for that tour and he said no, because he'd be all like Les Dawson.

Orwellian is a good song for sure. Echoing some other comments I've seen, it didn't grab me like International Blue did, but I've had several repeated plays of the new single and I'm enjoying it

So the album cover appears to be a view of, or from, Caldey Island in Wales

A place they’ve sang about before https://youtu.be/0jqGkSOWR74 (this b-side totally passed me by)

Does Orwellian actually work on anyone’s Spotify? It’s unplayable for me

I think I'm quite disappointed by the fact that they've got one song from the RIF sessions that they finished but didn't release which would have made prime bonus material for this album, even as a free download or something but I suppose the track will go down as a Midnight Sun, forgotten and maybe resurrected in 20 years time.

Nicky's got (or definitely had) an apartment block in Tenby that's not far from that spot from what I remember. Do we know if it's the Wire on the cover?

Oh Caldey should have been a Eurovision Song entry at least!

I think Nicky had an Art exhibition at Tenby. The lyrics and photos for the new album are really lovely. I love the new song Orwellian and looking forward to the album and tour.

Must have listened to the song 5 or 6 times today doing different chores and it has completely taken on new life. Sounds better if you just let it be rather than listening too closely to it.

I actually think there's good potential for it to be a bit more guitar heavy on tour, or at least Jimbo adding something during the piano parts. I am not a big fan of the Jimbo one hand on the mic leaning back bellowing trend in recent years.

Another fun fact - funny seeing that Gavin Fitzjohn has some guitar credits on the album but poor Wayne only has some backing vocal credits.

Not got the link, but according to an article in Tenby newspaper, that is Nicky on the cover.
