Its not that mad.

10 years for SATT in 2017.
20 years for TIMTTME in 2018.

So you can look forward to the big boxset of TIMTTME next year and one for SATT nie years after that!

Exactly, it's hilarious how people are put out by not having a TIMT box set in its 19th year

Eh, it's not even the actual album, they remove Underdogs and put on a b-side? The b-side IS one of the best songs but odd why they would change something like that.
The amount of stuff over all the discs looks great though, I'll defo get this at some point, mainly for the DVD, although hearing the demos will be very interesting indeed.

The official site won't allow me to pre-order this. Do I really need another signed Manics item????? Probably

I don't think anyone is finding it weird that they're not getting a TIMT release this year - more that THB, EMG and now SATT have 10th anniversary releases while TIMTTMY didn't despite its status. There's still all the chance that it'll get a 20th anniversary one like GT did (and THB, again) obviously. Its the original "snubbing" of it that just feels a bit random in comparison.

But then, the running theme with all these re-releases has been their relative inability to stick to any particular standard or logic.

I can't help but wonder, was the reason they pulled Underdogs because they thought it might not be a good idea to call the fans 'Freaks' when they're buying the same album another couple of times?

Jokes aside, I'm glad they did. The bad editing of the song means its jars and doesn't quite fit on the record. It feels like it was just cut and pasted in with pro tools. Guessing thats why Bradders has chosen to get rid of it.

Going back to 2008, TIMT didn't hold nearly the same cred as the Big 2 did. And MSP were busy redefining themselves as writers of Love Love Enough hits

Well I should post and then go to bed more often! Did not expect this to be announced so quickly. Would rather not pre-order but buy it when it comes out.
Still haven't got the 2CD of EMG yet.

It's by and far their most commercially successful album though and most internationally known - it's a pretty pivotal album just in terms of the sheer scale of it. It may not have the cred of the other two and I'm not sure it still has it either... but then neither do GT or SATT. It's those two getting re-releases ahead of TIMTTMY that has made its absence more glaring and stranger, I think.

I doubt we'll get it next year either, mind you - I don't think the band themselves hold it in such high esteem, which more and more seems to be the primary reason behind which albums are getting the deluxe treatment. And it's not the end of the world if it doesn't (tbh in an ideal world I'd like all the albums to get this treatment but that's clearly not going to be the case).

Which means I'll finally have a high quality version of my Welcome To The Dead Zone album!!
I'd say the same about Postcards too, to be fair. Not in a slagging off the album way mind, there are some very strong b-sides on that too, love Broken Up Again, Red Rubber and I'm Leaving You For Solitude.

I'm surprised they've swapped Welcome To The Dead Zone for Underdogs. Alright, yeah I much prefer Dead Zone too, but out this is the first reissue that's altered the tracklisting at all. Saying that, they did drop the song like a hot rock... Also surprised that the demos are included on the vinyl. I'll get em both, mind.

With em changing the tracklist like they have here, it's made me think of the Suede reissues from a few years ago. Albums haven't changed, but there's a little note from Brett Anderson on each one saying if he had his time again, he'd have done the album in this order, cut that track, stuck this b-side in etc. I'd love to see something similar from Manics. I'd love to know a bit more about how they've ended up compiling their albums. I know there have been plenty of tracks that have been considered album tracks that have ended up as b-sides, and album tracks that were considered singles, etc. I'd have loved to have been a fly on the wall for when they were deciding what the US Generation Terrorists was going to have on it, stuff like that. They're quite a self-critical band, slagged off and took the piss out of a fair few of their own songs... Ah, I just want to know their opinions on every song they've done.

I'd like the DVD but wouldn't buy it just for that. It's fine, nothing special but does have a nice flow to it. Not deserving of an anniversary edition though.

It does seem to mean a lot to the band because they got their ''Ordinary World'' moment of being cared about again by people who when not listening to YLAINE were listening to the Crazy Frog song.
