I wondered about this from the pictures on the site, but I thought no way would they do that, it's silly...

I should have known better than to doubt their levels of silliness because it seems to be confirmed that the regular CD cover of EMG20 is a photo of the original jewel case with a big white border around it.

It's the same with the vinyl sleeve in the deluxe box too.

Why? Goddammit, WHY?

I was wondering that as well whether that could be the actual cover. It a similar concept to Bowies The Next Day, thought it was a temp cover till I saw the actual album released!
Still it looks nice.

Me too.

It's literally displaying some distance from its original release. Visual parentheses, if you like.

Got my boxset from amazon today. The Discs seems to be held in Quite weakly. My disc 2 was bouncing around inside, along with the spongey thing thats meant to keep it in place. The b-side tracklisting seems to be in order and grouped by single except bizarrely the Live version of ADFL. Which should really be at the end as it was on the Australia tape.

Finally bought the standard reissue. Most interesting thing I'm taking from it is the changes in the credits. Booklet just says music credits rather than the music and lyrics separately like they used to. Richey's been given music credits for Small Black Flowers, Motorcycle Emptiness and You Love Us, but no credit at all for Faster, La Tristessa, Roses, Motown Junk, Yes, Stay Beautiful..

These credits are a mess actually. Kevin Carter credits go Bradfield / Moore / Wire / Jones. Presume that Jones should be James..? Nicky's been credited as Wire and Jones, Richey's been credited as James and Edwards... I dunno, does any of this change shit royalty wise? Has Nicky got a Swiss account under Wire or summat?

Haha, I still need to get the reissue of EMG. Not many people look at the credits in booklets, but I swear I always spot so many errors in them by bands that I love, I've spotted mistakes in other Manics stuff in the past, the only one I remember off the top of my head is the live tracks from the O2 on RTF bonus disc, they got the date wrong of the concert.
