What’s your most valuable Mancis item-either in cost, rarity, or sentiment?

Mine are the gold slipcase edition of Forever Delayed by Ikeda; and for sentiment, it’s the Melody Maker with them painted gold. I bought it the summer I spent in London ('94) in a Camden Town shop it was already a few months old, but in perfect condition. I have it framed so anytime I look at it I think about that time, and there’s a lot of great memories attached.

Apart from my gig tickets, I'd say my sealed vinyl copy of JFPL. It just looks so perfect. Can't bring myself to actually open it and play it!

Rarity/Sentiment - Gold slipcase edition of the Forever Delayed book. Individually hand numbered and personally signed to me because I was one of the first 50 (or was it 25?) people to order the book.

Value - Original Canadian pressing of The Holy Bible. I paid $260 for it, obviously before the 10th anniversary edition was released. It's the most I've ever spent on a single Manics item.

Sentiment - signed copies of Motown Junk 12" single and EMG CD. from their Virgin Megastore in-store appearance in Hollywood 1996. it was the first time I met the Manics and Nicky was impressed with my homemade t-shirt. hahahaha

Value - Canadian Holy Bible probably, unless it's now devalued. If so, see below.
Rarity - Dunno, maybe one of the new art riots or Motown Junk CD.
Sentiment - signed setlist from cambridge gig, day before my birthday

NME Originals is probably as good as I've got.

It was fifty, I have one.

I guess mine would be a toss up between Suicide Alley, or my fully signed Motown Junk, or the FD book.

Sentimental value would be my Access All Areas for the Swansea Brangwyn Hall gig. It was a fabulous gig, the security were amazing and the two Phils were great to chat with. Oh, and I got charged into by the Wire

Um... I have a vinyl edition of GT signed by Nicky, James and Richey. That's probably the most valuable. I don't have much - a few signed tickets, a postcard signed by all 3 remaining band members and a vinyl Lipstick Traces. That's it, really.

Sentimental: My import copy (UK to US) edition of EMG with US dollar price label. It brings back a lot of memories good and bad. It reminds me of how a little indie record store was my haven and how the owner (Gene) sold the import copy to me for standard price because I was sooo excited to finally get a copy.

Great story Snoo. I can imagine your excitement, and he sounds lovely.

Hmmmm,
Cost... is probably my spesh edition of Forever Delayed by Mitch Ikeda
Rarity... erm, I have a bootleg CD of the Cuba concert and the Flexidisk Holy Bible sampler given away with NME magazine in 1994.
Sentiment... gotta be my autograph sets. One from SATT era, and my signed JFPL album

Nothing that I own is worth any more than £20 I imagine...and, cheesily enough, my item with the most sentimental value is my ticket to so far my only gig. It's on my wall.
