It was good!

That's my 3-word review filed, please send my cheque to the usual address...

Nah, I forget how fucking funny James is, and how much I love the old sod. On entertaining form, strings sounded lovely if perhaps a bit quiet, acoustic Faster for the minority (in which I reside) who love that... so in short, sometimes beautiful, hilarious, nostalgic, and above all a communal singalong affair, as a send off to Faster Studios. Lots of reminiscing from James about that.

I'm sure someone was tweeting the set properly but it was summat vaguely like:

30 Year War
Ocean Spray
Tolerate
Teasing snatch of Still A Long Way To Go
Faster
It's Not War
Your Love Alone
You Love Us
Elvis Impersonator
EMG
Motorcycle
Hal Robson-Kanuuuuu
No Surface
Design

I'm pretty much retired from seeing MSP live, so if this cheeky doesn't-really-count affair is my last one, I'm happy. It was a one-off; something a bit special. Loved it.

Kinda glad I didn't go either - opening with 30YW is pretty cool though!

Despite the cold weather, I really enjoyed it. The setlist was fairly safe (and rather EMG heavy given the fact they've just toured it), but that was to be expected and I did enjoy 30 Year War. It was more the atmosphere that made it a lot of fun though; it was a tiny stage so very intimate and James seemed relaxed and came out with some very funny anecdotes/comments. The crowd sung along loudly too and it was quite poignant being right next to their studio (and also a bit weird because it felt a bit like a car park we were stood in ). Such a shame it'll shortly be no more, but as James said, you have to move on when things around you change. It was nice to catch up with people in the queue as well.

Edit: ooh and I forgot to say James was such a tease and played a snippet of the intro to Still A Long Way To Go after someone's shouted it out!

I took a few photos, although they're not that great tbh:

Don't worry, your pics are great. And yes, it literally was the car park of the studio
