Nah they are the same height 5 ft 5" I have seen the Manics 34 times and the Phonics twice. No comparison! The Manics are miles better. Phonics MOR very bland for years - ideal for lift music

I like the Streophonics - really good live band - but nowhere near as much as I adore the Manics, probably because they have never produced an album anywhere near the likes of The Bible and probably never will. Still, I'm not sure why they get such a hammering on this forum. Surely there are far worse bands out there.
Anyway, I could care less personally about polls, but I do hope the Manics come out alright. Mind you, I find it bizarre that fans of a football club are debating which Welsh band is better. Last edited by Bryter Layter; 17-12-2009 at 22:15. |

So true everyone has their own opinion. Would never go to see the phonics again live. Musically they were very poor live compared to the Manics. Been to some huge gigs Live8 at Hyde Park (200,000 Cold Play, U2, REM, Snoop Dog, The Killers,The Who, Sting, Robbie Williams, Pink Floyd, Paul McCartney, Elton John etc. and even the Phonics were there!!!) and Live Earth Wembley Stadium (80,0000 Foo Fighters, Metalica, Snow Patrol, Madonna, Beastie Boys, Red Hot Chilli Pepers, Black Eye Peas etc. ). Manics are much better live than a lot of those top acts who performed during those big gigs and also better than a lot of other bands I have seen over the years. It's the Manics for me

Then stop poking their cages then! I think most Cardiff fans are just a bit resentful that wales is always considered a rugby nation with the football ignored and the Manics are more rugby fans than football hense the attitude.

I liked the Stereophonics until I saw them live, around the time of their second album. Most boring night of my life - the most interesting thing Kelly Jones said all night was "This one's called Just Looking".

I'll leave them in peace now, promise! Yeah, rugby is considered Wales' national sport so I suppose the footie fans feel a bit put out.

I'm with Refresher all the way! I really cannot stand the Stereophonics. I may even prefer Oasis to them which is saying something!

Cardiff City are best supported team in the whole of Wales and that includes any rugby club.We have an average crowd of 21,000 this season and 18,000 last season. Cardiff Rugby get crowds of 8,000. So why would we be resentful of the rugby? And even when Welsh Rugby team won the Grand Slam Cardiff City won the BBC team of Wales award so they are hardly being ignored. The reason why Cardiff City fans are making such comments is the FACT that everyone has different tastes in music. They make such comments about every subject just like on this forum.
