Posted this in the Wales Show? thread but might as well post here, too. My husband (JDManic) introduced me to the Manics back in 2003. We live in the US and have only seen them once back in 2009. I turn 40 this summer and want to do something big and memorable. My passport's burning a hole in my pocket, and then we found out about this show, so hopefully we'll actually make it. And if anyone has any advice for the Yanks, please pass it along.

Don't, when you get there, announce "I've always wanted to visit England!"

10,000 capacity.

10,000 people needing hotel rooms, or parking spaces, or transport.

Yay.

No problem with that. You folks are all lovely, but I've never had a burning desire to visit before this Also don't have an AmEx.

As I mentioned in the other thread, One Direction are playing at the Millennium Stadium the day after this gig, which would explain why accommodation is so getting so full. So yep, I'd book early!

We found something that should be a short taxi ride away, for way more than we thought we'd have to spend but still doable given our budget. And per booking.com we can cancel the reservation without penalty, which is our biggest concern because this trip isn't a given yet.

Now here's a question for the locals - I was getting some hits for hotels around Pentwyn for about half what we're booked for now, and it looks like there's a bus route that would take us directly into Cardiff for the show, but I'm not sure I'm reading the bus timetables right to figure out if we'd be able to take the bus back after the show (any idea show times yet?). Does this sound like a feasible option to try to save some money, or should we just stick with what we've got?
