Are there any actual sales comparisons with previous albums?

I know that comparing download era with pre-internet isn't really feasible but I'd be interested to know if the sales are actually higher than the last few albums in the first weeks.

They've had a few, like SATT, that were only kept off no.1 because something fairly popular was out that week, and I think one of their releases was kept out by an Elvis compilation, so there's actually a lot of luck involved in terms of what releases end up going up against. I guess they deserve a bit of luck with all the no.2 albums and singles over the years.

The album is still number 1 on Amazon digital, 9th in their physical charts. 9th on iTunes as well, hopefully it will hang on to top 10.

Not too bad at all considering how album sales are these days. Any sales figures for this week?

It will have sold around 4000 copies this week. I can see it staying in the top 40 for next week and then disappear forever sadly.

More importantly Steps are 6 places below at 21. So much for their supposed staying power!

Y'know that is so uncalled for

Great to see them still in the Top 20 and out-perform Steps (when the fan sales and pre-orders of the first week disappear, is week 2 the better indicator of broader appeal?). Lindsey Buckingham only made 25, that's a shame, it's a great album too.

Sorry for being a bit late to the party, but wow! That's great news!
I thought the Manics were getting kinda forgotten by the masses, it's more than nice seeing them resurface like this. Truly heartwarming.
