Miserable, the lot of them!!! I hope they go ahead with the really heavy album. That'll be amazing. Probably. I hope.

I read an article published today where Nicky states he hasn't written anything for a new record yet and they might not do another one. That put me in a bad mood, then I see this on Twitter and I'm so happy again
Nicky is such a tease! I think he loves messing with people. |

I think possibly we can discuss this without insulting people.

I don't think them continuing is much of a shock, the talking points are (1) a major record label still willing to give them a new deal and (2) them still wanting to work with a major record label in 2015.
Sony will continue to provide them with a cosy life but also tired, half-arsed marketing campaigns and no physical singles. |

What would a smaller label do for them that would make them sell more records?
It would be good not to have to deal with myplay direct ever again mind

They'll probably never make the heavy album, alas, but by God, I am hoping...

Good news indeed. I seem to remember the last time they signed one it was for 3 albums I think. Not sure if that includes collections, re-releases, etc. Here's to HB 30th anniversary haha!

They must be one of the only bands to never get completly fucked over by a major label. I wonder how long it took the label to make there money back off GT.

They just signed a new record deal with columbia?
Does anyone know, what this deal is about? They posted this today on fb.
Does anyone exactly know, about how many records this deal is and maye the payment, american release of records or other interesting details? |

It's excellent for the band and fans alike but I think the band will ride on the nostalgia wagon for the next 18 months - 2 years plugging EMG 20. I really enjoyed the last two records despite the majority of both albums needing a real bonafide manics hit. I just hope whatever they come back with has real energy and vitriol.

Still a shame that Columbia are shite at promoting the band. My own bias aside, I do think they could be a lot bigger now than they are if they were marketed well. Thing is, they haven't really been marketed well since the KYE era (which is especially funny given the willful anti-commercial stance of that album).

I don't think it does include collections... record companies can release those whenever they want
