the next album wont be due out till 2025 and after 10 years of suffering writers block Nicky titles it 'Engage With Your Wattsville Blues'.....featuring James on lead banjo and Sean playing the triangle, cowbell and a bongo drum!

I think they need to do a kick ass entrance song for WWE Superstar and Manics fan Wade Barrett!

hehe 'dude' i am...
and thanks , altho i'm sure theres others far more worthy of that accolade... it came about from a bit of luck really as i originally wanted to call myself 'cheap tarnished glitter' or something else like that but as it was around the time of SATT/JFPL i joined up i was looking for something catchy and that line was at the forefront of my mind as i love Lifeblood to bits..i suppose looking back as the Manics came under a bit of flak from quarters saying theyd gone too soft or old and mellow after Lifeblood and the bands imposed hiatus they metaphorically did 'circle the wagons'! Then i google imaged wild west wagons and found that one and on my good old Nokia n95 managed to paint on MSP on the sides of it..about the most artistic ive got lol! I hope they come back with something that actually says something new and isn't a reaction to a previous era. They have it in them to at least release one more BRILLIANT album. I'll be happy with another Know Your Enemy.

Since Everything Must Go, there's been a reliable cycle of quiet, uncertain introspective album followed by a raucous hello-hello-it's-us-again record. (The exception being JFPL following SATT.)
Since Futurology cleaved more to the latter type, I suspect the next album will be like PFAYM and RTF. Personally I think that's a shame as I much prefer the heavier albums, but everything by the band has its charm. I agree that something completely unexpected would be great. Maybe an electronic album, or an album of collaborations? The number of guest vocalists has shot up in recent years. |

At this point, I'm such a rabid fan that I'm sure l'll like anything they put out. But if I had my druthers, before they're too much older, I'd like them to put out a HEAVY hard rock album. I know they're more than capable of that, and it could be genuine. But only if the lyrics call for it, as their lyrics tend to inform their music and the sound of each album.

Sean develops a Def Leppard-esque kit that allows him to play the trumpet solo in Kevin Carter whilst playing the drum part.

I'd like them to just continue making records. I don't want them to veer from guitars too much and definitely drop the duets.

Something loud, shouty and aggressive, please.
Doesn't have to be 'dark', so they won't have to force lyrics in that way. I'd actually be down with some very shouty melancholy. Or something.

I'd really like them to record it on the quiet. Not a quiet record, but just record it in an information vacuum. No tweets or anything. Then out of the blue the Manics PR machine strikes!
(And why the hell are there two "u"'s in 'Vacuum' and not two "c"'s?) |
