Although to be fair, i was at the Suede Royal Albert Hall gig and there weren't many cameras there, no crane cameras or anything like that, just cameras for the screens and that is being released on dvd. Although i think there were a couple of guys with camera roaming around, did that happen at the o2?

Aye, they could still bang together something reasonable. It wouldn't be as epic as the Millenium gig DVD but it would still be worth owning.
They should at least do something with the audio - even if it's just give it to the fans to put to their own fan-made multi-angle DVD like Radiohead so GENEROUSLY did.
That would be good socialism, lads. *COUGH*

When i saw Suede at the o2 the audio from the gig was available to download the next night for a few quid, its not that hard to do and will probably make some profit. I think the manics are still sorta stuck in the 90s though in terms of their marketing/release strategy

I experienced both the good and the bad at the O2 NME Big Gig in 2008. I lost my wallet (stolen) and after the gig was trying to get to where they keep the lost property, but the first guy I approached was just intent on his job of getting people out of the arena and couldn't give a flying fuck about my situation. As he was ushering me out two other members of staff intervened and asked me what the problem was and took me to the lost property. Didn't get my wallet back but I was grateful they helped. So yeah, it is just random on who you encounter. Some will have a don't give a fuck attitude and some will be helpful. The whole issue with being accused of stealing a wallet though is beyond the pale. A disgusting way to treat somebody who has paid to visit the venue.

If they do want to release it on DVD, don't expect it to be for a while.
Decently editing 3 hours of footage and live audio takes ages. There's still no word on when the DVD/album of LCD Soundsystem's last ever gig was (EPIC 3 hour set) and that was back in April.

ACTUALLY - A better idea.
If the band aren't going to release the footage they have of the gig, they should GIVE IT to the No Manifesto team to work into the end of the documentary.
Then we can all pray for an eventual release date for that too...

The band have enough time off now to work on a live DVD should they wish to do so. I hope they don't make the mistake of giving the footage to "filmmaker" Patrick Jones so he can ruin it.

Agreed. I felt genuinely embarrassed by that SIS video.

I would be interested to hear the audio of at least 2 songs where JDB was singing with a pick in his teeth.

Don't know what I can add really. Absolutely brilliant show, I'm really proud of them for pulling it off, not a dud or lull in the evening. Robeson witgh Gruff was weird, probably cause I'm not used to him singing in the higher register, and I thought they'd take it one like each or something. Nina was great, best I've heard her sing it live. Really loved Revol and Exile was a nice novelty, worked well!

Still absolutely disgusted with the security's treatment of Laura, they were complete and utter jobsworths all day. and the pushers in can fuck off, Franny and Kelly must've come about half hour after us before those cunts let in 17 people (yes I counted them), as soon as they started moving people up I took the opportunity to reclaim our place where we were.

But all in all a great euphoric gig, enjoy your rest boys and come back re-engerised with a complete bad-ass kick ass album

I have to say that was a load of wank. Worse than the original video which too is wank. Although the overbearing keyboard wankery that always ruins that song live was the biggest wank of them all.

Why of why was this not filmed for DVD and Blu Ray release?

Just looking at the photo's from deadmartyr show how visually stunning this could have been and also from an audio perspective. The band seemed really up for this, genuinely happy.

A 5.1 lossless, HD, Blu Ray release would have been amazing, epic and I alone would have bought 3 copies for myself and a couple of close friends!!
