Arthur's Day secret pub

Hey all!

I'm sorry if this thread has been posted already, but I couldn't find it on the forum. Does anybody know which pub the Manics are playing on Thursday in Dublin? I know it's supposed to kept secret, but just incase anybody heard anything... I heard Hogan's, but I think it's just a rumor...

Thanks in advance and take care all

Laurence x

Don't think it's even confirmed its in Dublin yet, though would've thought with the likes of Biffy and The Script also playing Dublin doesn't look likely, just have to wait til Thursday

I really doubt it's in Dublin. They were just here, and played Dublin for Arthur's Day a few years ago. Cork probably.

Then again Dublin is easier logistically, and Cork is Murphy's country.

Hogan's would be decent, but I have no idea. I don't know anyone working in Guinness anymore for a tip off. I am still pretty opposed to the whole thing though, it's just a corporate PR stunt, which has become a semi-state holiday.

Still though if anyone finds out where Bobby Womack is playing I might head in.

Alain Noir, I agree with you...I'm just being greedy. I saw them in the Olympia last Friday and they were so amazing, I would love to see them again...twice in one week, I'd love that.
But the whole Arthur's Day is a lot of bollocks alright...

Cheers x

As far as I can work out Janelle Monáe is the big name playing in Cork for Arthur's Day. If Songkick is anything to go by.

https://www.songkick.com/concerts/17...-unknown-venue

Arthur's Day is a fucking disaster though. It's mainly venues full of pissed up eejits who only attend three gigs a year - Coldplay, The Killers and Arthur's Day (it doesn't matter who's on).

I remember seeing Seasick Steve at one of the Arthur's Day shows a while back and it was torture - try to enjoy any gig with 900 people bellowing "To Arthur!!!" every five seconds.

The Manics Arthur's Day gig will have to be somewhere handy enough for them to get to Manchester the next day too.

Manchester flight from Cork is always delayed! Just saying.

The thought of them playing inside Readens turns my stomach a little, but i probably wouldn't be able to get a ticket even if they did play.
