RIF - First Review

So, earlier this week I did an article about the albums being released in 2018 people are most excited about and one of the people I contacted was John Robb.

Not only did he recommend RIF by the Manics, his recomedation reads as if he has actually heard the full album making this the world's first actual published review of the complete record and not just the single.

I'm a bit chuffed about that, even if it is just one line!

The new Manics album will sound like a Manics album it seems.

That's IT? Could just be talking about the song, plus whatever bits of lyrics have been leaked

We could do a Manics Review Bingo?
"Survivors"
"Melancholic"
"Uplifting"
"Soaring"
"Anthemic"
And "Welsh".

Any idea what sort of scoring we could put or have I missed any words out?

Not only is that not a review I’ll lay odds that whoever wrote that most definitely has not heard the album.

The Manics will never get a truly honest review ever again. They are very much apart of the critical establishment by now. They are supported by the music press because they still exist, rather than the (perceived) quality of their music. Which is fine.

Someone who depends on his artists selling records?

I kid. But his review sounds like a stock answer that attached to every album's promotional material.

Though congrats on the interview, he is a big deal even if not everyone knows it.
