There are two things wrong with it for me. Rapping, and Ian Brown mainly.

The tree surgeon is in the front garden, cutting back the silver birch. Now I'm wondering if I should have a mournful bonfire later.

Didn't he say (in an interview a short while back) that he started the book but gave up as it was too painful an experience writing about their early years...? Something like that anyway.

Sorry, I was hunting around on Youtube because I swear he mentioned it in a video, but I couldn't find it, but he does say he was 'bored' with the book in this postal interview with Lindz in April 2012:

http://www.delirium-on-helium.co.uk/...qapril2012.htm

Doubt it will be released any time soon, in any case.

It was the Dermot O'Leary radio interview they did around the release of the GT reissue. Wire said that he had abandoned the book because it was too painful. Got no link to the interview, though, sorry.

Ah, knew I'd heard it somewhere. Thanks for clarifying.

After living with two ardent communists, I'm kinda glad the manics have tended to send confused, mixed and incoherent political messages... Makes them seem more normal. I'd rather that than they turn into some kinda preachy radicals (i.e. bands like Crass or even The Levellers)
