I imagine Richey would've liked twitter.....though trying to keep his thoughts to around 6 words a time or whatever it is would likely have kept him restricted to one tweet a night....and done his sanity no favours

Also, I believe his feminine side would have been kinda largely appreciated.

Let's be civil everyone. Thank you.

I'm sure if Richey were around for Twitter, Facebook or whatever he could have rubbed a lot of people up the wrong way. People can get nasty and rude on the internet, even on this little thread we're circling the wagons and Takk's got to tell you to keep it civil. Is it really so hard to be civil? Maybe that'd have put him off getting involved or made him tone it down a bit, maybe he'd have mellowed out like Nicky has. Maybe he'd have thrived on it. Who knows.

Context! Riles me so much when people don't put this as a stand-alone quote, which it wasn't!

He absolutely would've been the victim of a "Twitchfork" movement several times over, as would Nicky. Wishing an AIDS-related death on Michael Stipe would likely leave you without a career today.

And it would take lawyers to explain how he didn't really wish him death, but eternal success and high respect by music historians.

Sean's got the right idea on Twitter I think - high number of retweets concerning relevant news, art, popular culture, technology, politics, alongside occasional personal input - I'd like to think Richey's feed today would've been the same (maybe more intense / obscure / cryptic, if age didn't mellow him).
To me, Sean's Twitter reads as the perfect extension of the Manics' early days of pulling influence from everywhere - in a way, it's sad Nicky's isn't the same.
