I don't think we're ever going to see the back of fahking Autumnsong.

I want to hear the new album mainly, but I've always wanted to hear PCP. I mainly just want to hear some things I haven't already, but once we've rattled through ADFL, Tolerate, YSTSFMH, LBN, Kevin Carter, Autumnsong, YLAINE, ME, perhaps JCEQT and the other staples there aren't many slots left.

I've decided that for the first time I'm not actually going to read the gig threads on this tour.

Usually I read them all, but because the Manics hardly ever change their set on tour you usually know what's coming up by the time they get to the venue that you're watching them. I wanna be surprised. Well, as surprised as I can be.

Must resist, must resist...

Interesting quote from Nicky's Drowned In Sound interview: "We've got a week lined up at the end of September where we're going to rehearse our entire back catalogue and hopefully learn the new album at the same time. ", probably a slight exaggeration, but does widen the possibilities for the setlist somewhat

It would be nice if Design For Life was played early on in the set, I saw them at Leeds Uni in 2005 on the PPAF tour and it was the 2nd song they did, which was great as it really got the crowd going and at least made the final song a tad less unpredictable

So what do we all make of the tour setlists so far??

Exciting? Reinvigorating? Pleasing? Dull? Boring? Lazy??

In my opinion we can prob expect to hear eight or nine off the new album given an airing at some point on the tour. We have six already, I would guess billion balconies, auto intoxication and don't be evil may get played.

That leaves 18 songs left in a 23 song setlist.

12 of them (I think, based on Edinburgh) were also played on the JFPL tour last yr. Too many repeats?? Or is that the best we were ever likely to get??

Any surprises on this tour? In my opinion no not really. Although others may disagree. I have to say I thought the acoustic songs were great, and a very refreshing change.

So what do we all think?

The acoustic portion has been the most interesting and has also been the most controversial amongst fans.

I miss the days when they'd headline Reading Festival and play Archives of Pain. Heck, I miss the days when they'd headline Reading Festival.
