Brilliant pics; thanks so much for sharing

Definitely, I'd play GT to people in their cots if I could.

I played "Design For Life" to my 17 year old brother who hasn't spoken since May - he actually started vocalising. It was the first sound he'd made for a fortnight. He may have of course been saying "get this bombastic shite away from my poor lug 'oles" but hey...!

is it ok if I ask why he hasn't spoken for so long? PM me if you'd prefer.

(I don't mind saying here cos it's good to raise awareness although I realise I'm derailing the thread pretty thoroughly! Anyway he has Down's and is depressed, and it's common when that happens that they stop talking. I've written a song about it).

Maybe I'll get him to stencil SILENT PROTEST on his school shirt and jump up and down? That'd be pretty awesome actually.

Were the photos taken by the bloke who auctioned off the 7"? (forgive me if this is obvious or has been mentioned earlier).

Yes they were. He was a friend of the promoter & went to see many of the acts his mate promoted in pubs & clubs around London. From my conversations with him, it appears that he'd never heard of the Manics prior to these gigs, but was impressed enough by what he heard & saw to buy a copy of the single from Richey after the gig as well as picking up the set list.

Funnily enough at the time, he was annoyed that he wasn't able to get one with the usual picture sleeve - he thinks rather differently now of course.
