Seeing as I have no clue what username has been alluded to, I'm going to make a guess and say he stopped posting after the furor over the Underdogs edit.

Sean was 'Happyfeet', alright? Fuck, every time this discussion comes up it consists of a load of people gloating that they know who he was, and a load of people begging to be told.

I wasn't "begging?"

I was just interested to know who all the other people were referring too.

Haha.

To be honest I think it's unhealthy for the band to read FD and get involved, because there's a lot of stuff here they shouldn't take to heart. If they did everyone the fans wanted or believed everything they said then they'd never make any music. It must be pretty disheartening to read such criticism of the band on here - without perhaps taking on board the fact that the reason some of the criticism is so harsh is because a lot of people love the band and feel they can say stuff like that, when they'd probably stop someone else doing the same.

For example most people moaning about setlists still go see the band many times on a tour, and love their music - but to an outsider it might seem that all the fans do is complain. I think criticism is good and healthy, but not for James or Nick or Sean to see all the time.

I think a successful band has to stay a little detached from the fans, and vice versa.

I was about to post something similar to that. Pretty much all that happens in Manics' Discusssion is slagging everything they do off, so

I agree, a band as successful and individual as the Manics would be wise to take absolutely no notice of FD at all. Luckily, that's exactly what they do.
