"The Intense Humming Of Happy Birthday"

Happy 20th Birthday to the album that remains the Manics' masterpiece! Who else will be playing The Holy Bible in full today? Which version? Going to watch any love footage from 1994? Share your THB related thoughts!

I've given it one full play so far today (standard CD)! I don't know if it's helping my bad mood much though so I might need to put something else on now

Played it through once today but didn't have the chance to really take it all in alone. Will give it another run tomorrow and possibly the Astoria bootleg even if it doesn't fit in date wise.

I'm going to listen to Killing Joke's Extremities, Dirt & Various Repressed Emotions just to remind myself of where it all came from. Then ill put THB on, Happy Birthday, cant believe its 20 years. At the time i was listening obsessively to Nirvana and the Manics bar one performance on TV, completely passed me by. Wish i had paid more attention to the Glasto performance, then again i was only 11!

Should hope to fit in a listen later.

Currently at work we periodically have to give presentations to each other on topics that are chosen to us, or ones that we choose - intended to improve our presentation skills (I work in IT - don't ask why we have to).

I was randomly given today as my presentation date and having always intended to do a History of MSP as my topic, I just had go ahead with that idea for today of all days. I presented it today with healthy time given to THB, and a clip of Faster on TOTP just to surprise/shock the audience.

I can't help but feel we should have done an FMF flashmob of 'Strategy' at the Saatchi Gallery to celebrate...

Listening to it now… (the 2009 Japanese reissue anyway)…

Seeing as A Design For Life was the song that got me into the manics I didn't buy THB until 1996. It was actually the last one of their four albums (at the time) that I bought, it seemed the most … intimidating. And it still is.
