I liked futurology much better on 2nd hearing of it live and I was on barrier then so made a difference to me, love Europa, and LOVE the mystery song that was posted, it sounds really fucked up and reminds me of something that would be on league of gentlemen as an instrumental so naturally I think it's brilliant.

It also reminds me of this but maybe that's just me haha

I'm also anticipating Nicky describing the mystery song as "PIL's Death Disco played by Rammstein".

Don't think anyone had heard officially of Lets Go To War before last night so guess the below from AK47 a few pages back is pretty much confirmed

Reckon we'll see the video and single/album announcement on Monday. Just a hunch.

Maybe I'm being overly cynical as I enter my 3rd week being gluten free but I was thinking today about the whole "2 albums in a year" thing. Surely with the end of the single the only way to get any money out of the all the songs you record is to release them in album format. Therefore by releasing 2 albums the Manics will be able to tour the UK 3 times over 12-16 months, do the Europe dates x2 (possibly), and prob head to Asia - as well as doing all the Festival dates this summer and prob Summer 2015 as well...

I have no problem with that but this seems to me more a pragmatic strategy to deal with the songs they have recorded rather than some sort of artistic statement...

The only money to be made these days is through touring and merchandise. Same as any other band.

The tracklist is fake. I found out through a friend. The titles that have been officially tweeted or mentioned are all we know so far. I'm sure somebody on here has the promo and has mentioned posting the tracklist.

This album has so much potential, the feedback from music journalists has been more than favourable, the feedback from fans has been fantastic (from the live previews) and the tour has really been going down a storm with reviewers etc.

I cant remember being so excited to hear an album.

Personally I think it's going to be a SATT all surface no feeling alt-rock effort. I'm not that excited about it after been let down by the incredibly patchy RTF.

Things to remind yourselves off to remain some level of excitement. This is based off someone who has heard the album in full - not me.

1: It does NOT sound like THB. At all. It has a darkness and heavy feeling to it but it is nowhere near as dark as THB sonically or lyrically.

2: The guitar work is amazing but it does sound very polished by the producers. It sounds like SATT guitar work as opposed to EMG/TIMTTMY/KYE.

3: It is incredibly referencial lyrically - Eastonia, Latvia, Spain, Germany, etc - all referenced. Newport, South Wales, is featured in an entire song. Lots of lyrics to convey motion, speed, time, age, etc.

4: Futurology, the track, sounds fucking massive on record. HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUGGGEEE.

5: NIcky sounds remarkable

6: One track (name not provided) sounds like a cross between Albatross (Fleetwood Mac) and early Julian Cope stuff.

7: A fuck load of electronica.

I sort of got the impression that this was the case after hearing several different live versions of the song, from the timpani rolls into each chorus, the blips and blops during the brief guitar solo and the massive drumming from Sean.

I reckon the live version is a bit of a let down compared to the studio recording!!
