Does noone else have the american version of GT that has the real Spectators on it? Back when James was actually trying.

Lovely. Got that "blissful / everything is totally f-d" vibe I love about the Manics. Really need an official download of this.

This is lovely. I've loved this song since I first heard the Heavenly version on a covermount tape with Select magazine in 1991, long before I took much of an interest in the Manics generally. It's got a lovely poignant melody which I think works best with a sort of subdued sound, like the Heavenly version has, and this new version has it too. I can't judge how close the House in the Woods version is to being good because of that snare sound screaming in my face.

The what now? My US GT is only 14 tracks long, and misses out SoS in favour of Democracy Coma and Sorrow 16.

Am I the only one who thinks it sounds terrible with Gweno?

Picked this up far too late... but wow, this is great! I love Gwenno's voice, though kind of think it would have sounded even better if she'd followed the original melody. But still, this is cool!

Was thinking this would be nice to have released on 7 inch with English and Welsh versions on either side with some cool artwork. Download is fine but boring.

I'm expecting the Welsh to be just Gwenno but James might surprise us. He has said he's been practicing his language skills during lockdown.
Shocked the hell out of us with his zooming skills hasn't he?

On both accounts you are correct.

Give us a hazy bored-out-of-our-minds GT 30.

And give us a keyboard-twiddling, tambourine-swinging, handclapping, claves-clinking (backing) singstress.

And perhaps a gospel choir. (It's yuletide, one can wish...)

Where do I audition?

Supporting statement: Am classically trained on the piano, can warble a bit and have demonstrated my in-depth understanding of the Manics' back catalogue in numerous exclamation-mark-strewn blog posts. Surely a top candidate
