Interesting. Just hazarding a guess at some details here.... The addition of a current act (no harking back to the 90's with this line up) is clearly to help shift the tickets with da yoof. Personally, I don't like Editors, but you can't not have a big band alongside MSP in venues of those sizes, as well as the Liberty gig.

Also, the format of the night will be slightly curtailed compared to the Holy Bible gigs which required no support act. I'd imagine the format will look something like this.... Doors at 7.30, Editors on at 8 for 45/50 mins, that puts the Manics at 9:15 at the earliest, with potentially the album itself (45 mins) and then a short break followed by 50 minutes of hits before the curfew.

EDIT: This might be slightly wrong, given the early doors.... we shall see!

Okay, gotta get in training for a 4:15 am EST wake-up on Friday and sign up to all these UK ticket seller websites. Has anyone outside the UK had any particular issues buying from these sites?

Ah, think I'll go for Liverpool, Leeds and Glasgow...

I'm surprised about this, I half expected a warm up at one of their favourites, Wolves or Newport or summat but didn't see this coming like this... Swansea's nowhere near selling out yet? Alright some of these might sell out quicker being smaller and easier to get to for a lot of people but still, don't get why they didn't announce the whole lot at the same time. Maybe cos they thought no bugger would bother with Swansea idk

I bloody knew his would happen! Trailing all the way from Newcastle to Swansea because I was worried they would only do the one date and then they announce Glasgow and Leeds.
Suppose it's a good excuse to see them more than once though, would be rude not to.

Ticketmaster seem to think there's a pre sale starting at half nine tomorrow morning (at least for the Glasgow show). Not quite sure what you have to do to access it though.

I think this is a really poor show by the Manics. I just spent a couple of hundred quid getting my trip to Swansea sorted out (Aberdeen - Edinburgh, flight to Cardiff and back, hotel, coach to Swansea and back), and now I find out I could have just waited for a ticket to Glasgow and only needed to pay for a tank of petrol. I know others that have had to do similar.

At least if they'd announced a London show first, it wouldn't have been much of a problem for anyone to get to. I think I managed to go to two of the Roundhouse gigs on the JFPL tour for less than this Swansea trip is going to cost me.

I've not been this pissed off with them since they left Bag Lady off the deluxe edition of JFPL...

(Mind you, the Hydro is a fucking horrendous venue for gigs. Every time I see a band there, I come out thinking it was their worst ever gig.)
