Where to stay??

Hey, hope this is the right place to ask this question, but I am coming from the US for this show. My travels to the UK have never brought me to the Newcastle area. Any tips on where to stay for the show??
Thank you!!!

Holiday Inn Express and Jurys Inn are both very close to Times Square, no idea what they're like though.

Newcastle is a really small city so as long as you're stopping in the city centre it's all within walking distance.
As I'm from the area I've never stopped in a hotel but as Glass Angel said, the Holiday Inn Express and Jury's Inn are very close and also The Premier Inn isn't far and is right in the middle of all the shops.
There's a few hotels along the quayside too which is a little bit further to walk but still within walking distance. Might be worth having a look on trip advisor for an idea of prices and reviews.

Newcastle is a beautiful city and you'll love it!

I have had a few overseas visitors stay in the new Premier Inn in the centre of town and all have given positive feedback. It's in a beautiful old listed art deco building too, so they had to retain a lot of the original internal and external features in the refurbishment and is also next door to a multi-plex/restaurant/bar complex.

You can stay in Gateshead and walk across the bridge very easily, if you want to save a bit of cash. And don't mind Gateshead generally being crap. There are a few hotels.

Or, stay further out - South Shields, Sunderland, Tynemouth - anywhere on the Metro, and just get the Metro in and out. But Newcastle is so walkable and compact.

They've not given us any indication of the support I'm afraid. But, these Times Square events are a bit of a big deal so I'd expect it will be someone decent.

Cannot wait for this, a chance to see the band without travelling. My wife is pregnant and the due date is a week before the gig but I'm sure I'll be able to sneak out for the night....
Priorities ha ha!

I liked Roomzzz a lot when I stayed there last year, and you get quite a lot of money off if you sign up to their 'royalty club' (free). The downside is that, at weekends, they seem to have a minimum stay requirement - probably a couple of nights - which isn't very helpful, if you're just in town for one night.

Super excited about this gig! It would be great if support was/were good, but the fact that the Manics are playing will do me
