Managed to get a hotel room last night, possibly the last reasonably priced on in Cardiff, where I didn't have to pay in advance and lose the money if I cancelled. Now I just need tickets.....

Ah paid for mine up front, £30. Eh I'm really really hoping to get tickets obviously but eh, I can't see myself struggling to shift it to anyone who can't get a hotel in Cardiff. Still, well happy with that, get train back to Newport at half midnight, sorted

Trying to get to Cardiff for this show is going to be the death of me! I'm home sick today - runny nose, congestion, horrible cough and my co-workers don't need to hear me hacking up body parts all day long. And I got no sleep, the sleep I did get was filled with dreams of me trying to purchase show tickets and things going horribly wrong.

And then I got on my laptop and saw a notice that my hotel reservation for Cardiff had been CANCELLED. My credit card was not able to be processed, and I hadn't bothered to check email to see the notice they sent to try again. Panic panic panic, must be because the credit card company is thinking that me trying to book a room in Cardiff is fraudulent activity or something. Call all my credit card companies to tell them what my plans are, so please let any odd charges for overseas places I'm making this week go through.

Then cross fingers as I check booking.com to try to rebook. The original place still had rooms, but the price had jumped by $200 US since Monday night. Grrr. But... I find a different hotel that's closer, and cheaper, that still has a room - it's a Christmas miracle! The dream is still alive!

After Manchester last night, of course I'm gonna try.

I'd never thought to book a hotel in Newport though, gonna do that tomorrow if I get a ticket... Will still be a hell of a lot cheaper than getting a taxi home that night...

Gigsandtours or seetickets (same thing really), get logged into both and get your payment and address details entered into your profile.

Seconded. I did that for Manchester, and given what I heard about some dates selling out before some people even finished putting in card details, it was worth doing.

I feel like an Army sergeant preparing for an attack. Logins created and credit card info saved for ticket selling sights. Laptop is charging. Alarm will be set for 3:30 AM Cleveland time (aka 8:30 AM your time - and if I did that conversion wrong, someone let me know right away!). It's not war, just trying to buy Manic Street Preacher concert tickets.

Prepping for the release of Manics tickets is hopefully the closest I'm going to get to a military operation. Good luck all!

Swansea has a decently late train back as well I may have moved from Swansea when this gig happens (finish my job January so hope to have something by June) so I may crash at a friends in Swansea, Newport isn't a bad idea at all. I will have to wait to buy on this and just hope if I don't get to go I won't be upset but after tonight I would like to see it again.
