My copy of the 'Faster'/'PCP' 10" arrived today. I'd never seen it in the flesh (so to speak), I'd only seen a picture of the cover so I was delighted to find the Kippenberger art on the back. Absolutely beautiful as an object. And the band look amazing in those pictures (yes, I know the pictures are printed in the CD box but that size they look even better).

Any particular tracks that benefit more from the vinyl sound than others?

I quite enjoy "I'm Not Working" and "Be Natural" on vinyl. They seem to sound much more understated and spacious.

On the other hand I'm tempted by 'Forever Delayed' on vinyl too - for some reason I really want to hear 'There By The Grace Of God' on vinyl. |

I really like the idea of hearing tracks that weren't really recorded for vinyl in that format to see what they sound like. So the electro of 'TBTGOG' should be really interesting with all the beats and weird digital noises. |

Is National Treasures on Vinyl? if so perhaps it would be better to obtain that rather than FD? I have the Q edition.

I have the Q one too but that's the only vinyl release I'm aware of sadly. I'm told it's a poor pressing but I'd like 'Lifeblood' on vinyl for the same reason.

Lifeblood is pretty decent but then again I am not technical when it comes to sound quality.

Just bought 'This Is My Truth' and 'Forever Delayed' on the new 180gm vinyl issues from Ebay. I don't get paid until Friday but I can cover it until then and 'FD' was the last copy. Can't wait.
BTW, the 180gm 'Know Your Enemy' plays a lot quieter than my other records. Is this a general thing with that series i.e. quieter volume for better quality sound? I have the original 2001 pressing and that's louder. Last edited by Phil C; 09-07-2012 at 19:56. |

'Truth' and 'Forever Delayed' arrived today. Loved the separate lyric sheet in 'Truth'. I was thinking 'FD' would be a gatefold sleeve to house the two records but I much prefer the way they've packaged it - one normal outer sleeve, and a separate inner sleeve for each record with the artwork from the CD booklet printed on them. Absolutely beautiful. Can't wait to listen to them.
