London in winter can be nasty. Take a long coat and a scarf, and maybe some gloves too.

8/9 degrees is like spring! It's beautiful. This is coming from someone who can see -40 at that time of year.
I agree, 9 degrees or so in December is absolutely fine as it gets down to -30 or so where Iīm from as well.

I went to London in November last year, and I was like this and I had parka and Ugg boots!
Never mind, I usually stop freezing after a couple of days I'm there.

Cricri, almost everyone can afford the Harrods Food Hall. Even a chocolate or cupcake.

Moonlight, I'm even trying my Aeroplan miles. Not enough. If I had around 90,000, sure, but I don't. All the tickets are currently blacked out at the lower levels. Maybe things will change in a few weeks with some late fall seat sales. Perhaps I'll win the lotto or some money will magically come to me. I'd love to go, but it's not the best time of year, either.

You'd be a Cricisicle if you ever visited here in winter.

Yep, I bought some sushi, some triple chocolate cupcakes and a plushie for my little cousin the first time I went there, but there's no way I can afford a pair of shoes

My last trip to London was horrifically expensive with the currency exchange being $2.56 Canadian per pound. A pair of 99 pound shoes - $256 minus the VAT. I bought only a few CDs and a couple of souvenirs for work that time. The exchange is about $1.60 now.

Thank god I was on the early shift this week (otherwise I'd have missed the start of the pre-sale). I had the Gigs & Tours page all ready to go, kept refreshing.......AND NO BLOODY PRE-SALE! Arrrggghh! After a few minutes, the pre-sale *finally* started and I got myself a standing ticket with ease.

SEE YOU ALL THERE!!!

I had the exact same thing, it wouldn't let me order until 9:33. The language coming out of my mouth during those three minutes was appalling
Got them though.

Well I was thinking of if you went to a travelodge or something (like $90) a night and you could get cheap food...wouldn't be the best quality trip in the world, but it could be done for like 2000.
